Osmunda Cobblestone
Queensland, Australia
8.6 cm x 12 cm

It is the wonderful pattern of leaf traces, petiole cross-sections and rootlets surrounding a central stele (pith, xylem and phloem) in the permineralized stem, which attracts the interest of the fossil wood collector.

A Dino-Lite AD7013 MT 5.0 MP is used to zoom in on the the central stele at 50x. The Image was resized in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
