Specimen Ridge: Twin Fossil Pine Trees
Two permineralized fossil trees on Specimen Ridge. The Lamar Valley can be seen below. These trees are 2 feet in diameter, 25 feet tall, and 20 feet apart. These trees are identified as pines (Knowlton, 1899, p. 13).
