Looking
down from the large Sequoia one can see "twin fossil
trees". Images of these two trees are iconic for Specimen
Ridge. These
trees are 2 feet in diameter, 25 feet tall, and 20 feet apart.
These trees are identified as pines (Knowlton, 1899, p. 13). |
